Getting to the Festival

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

  • We strongly encourage public transportation as Bay Area traffic is unpredictable and parking can be challenging. 
  • The closest BART station is Ashby Bart Station, Berkeley and you can then do a rideshare to the venue. 
  • San Francisco Bay Ferry also has service from downtown San Francisco to Oakland for those who prefer to travel over the Bay in a cool, calm, and comfortable way.

RIDESHARE

  • Utilizing rideshare services is a convenient and flexible option for getting to POC Food & Wine Festival. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or with family, rideshare offers a hassle-free transportation solution. 

PARKING

  • There is street parking available around the venue, but it will get filled as the day moves on. We highly encourage rideshare or public transportation especially if you will be drinking. 
  • If driving is a must, please pay close attention to parking signs and meters. Consider reserving your spot ahead of time via Spot Hero. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR. We have Coat Check onsite.

Do you, boo. There is no specific dress code, but we encourage you to take the opportunity to rock your flyest fit and honor our event values of celebrating your culture loud and proud, as there WILL BE  A RED CARPET & multiple photo opps.

If you’re planning on staying the whole day on Saturday from Main Dish to the Brown is Beautiful Afterparty, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes, or even bringing a change of clothes if you’d like to refresh yourself in between events. All events are indoors, so no need to worry about the weather.

At POC Food & Wine Festival, the health and safety of our attendees, staff, and participants are our top priority. We have implemented the following health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone

  • Zero Tolerance Policy:

    POCFW wants to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants at our events, and we enforce a zero tolerance policy towards any form of unwanted behavior. This policy applies to all attendees, speakers, staff, volunteers, vendors, and any other individuals involved in our events.

    POCFW is committed to a zero-tolerance approach to any behavior that is disrespectful, intimidating, or otherwise unacceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Harassment – Unwanted comments, gestures, or actions based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.
    • Discrimination – Unfair or prejudicial treatment of individuals or groups based on personal characteristics or beliefs.
    • Bullying – Intimidating, hostile, or offensive behavior used to harm, control, or manipulate others.
    • Abuse – Any action that physically or psychologically harms another person.
  • Reporting and Response:

    All attendees, vendors, partners are encouraged to report any incident of unwanted behavior to Event Staff or Security immediately. All staff will have STAFF lanyards and T-shirts and our Registration table will be open all day for help.

    All complaints will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and discreetly. Immediate action will be taken to stop the behavior and ensure the safety of the event participants.

At POC Food & Wine Festival, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all attendees. Below is important information about accessibility features and accommodations available at the event:

  • Wheelchair Accessibility: The festival grounds are wheelchair accessible. 
  • Official Service Animals: Service animals are welcome at POC Food & Wine Festival. Emotional support animals are unfortunately not allowed.  Please ensure your service animal is properly identified and under your control at all times while on the festival grounds.
  • Accessible Restrooms: Accessible restroom facilities are conveniently located throughout the venue, equipped with features such as grab bars and ample space for maneuverability.

Accessibility Assistance: Our dedicated staff members are available throughout the festival to provide assistance and support to attendees with disabilities. If you require any accommodations not listed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

GENERAL

Which event should I attend? I can’t choose.

The Main Dish is our signature event! If you can only attend one event, we suggest that one 🙂 Otherwise, each event has its own vibe.

  • Intimate sit down dinner with pairings: Family Meals

Is all food and drink included in the ticket price?

YES! All food & drink tastings are included in your ticket price from all our featured vendors.

The only thing NOT included are our Marketplace Vendors who will be selling a variety of pre-packaged goods, coffee, art, jewelry, massage/chiropractic services and more! 

What is POC Food & Wine Festival (POCFW)?

POC Food & Wine Festival is a celebration of the global majority and our allies in food, wine, music, and culture. Over a 4-day festival, we are showcasing some of the top POC (people of color) chefs, caterers, wine, spirits, and beverage brands including Zero Proof vendors, as well as DJs, creatives, and live musicians. 

Are all POCFW events 21+?

Yes, all POCFW events are 21+. A valid ID is required for admission at all festival events. If event staff can’t verify your age, you will not be admitted into the event. Anyone under the age of 21 will be refused entry and tickets will not be refunded.

Can I bring my child or baby?

All POCFW events are 21+ so no children or infants are allowed to attend any festival event.

Will there be a MOTHER’S ROOM available if I need to pump?

Yes! We will have a dedicated Mother’s Room available with a refrigerator available for storing milk. Inquire at Check In and we will show you the room.

Will there be a COAT CHECK?

  • Berkeley venue: Yes, on Saturday at the main festival there will be coat check available for a minimal fee all day. 
  • San Francisco venue: There will be coat racks available, but they will be unattended so we recommend only bringing what you need.

Will there be All Gender Restrooms?

Yes, ALL bathrooms at the venue are  all gender and mostly single stall.

What if I have special dietary needs?

POCFW will feature diverse culinary options, but we cannot guarantee being able to accommodate specific dietary requests, including preferences and allergies, at this event. Some chefs will be offering plant-based options, but not every booth will.

What is the DRESS CODE for the festival?

We’ll have glam rooms ready, and also will have paid Coat Check available for you to utilize.

All events are indoors, so no need to worry about the weather.

SAFETY

Are there any items that are prohibited to bring inside POCFW?

Yes, the following items are PROHIBITED.

  • ‍Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind
  • Illegal and illicit substances of any kind; drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Noise making devices: air horns, drums, whistles
  • Drones or any other remote flying device
  • Pets (except service animals)
  • Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including flyers, stickers, giveaways, samples, etc. are allowed.

What should I do if I’ve had too much to drink?

Please enjoy responsibly. There are a number of transportation and rideshare options if you are not safely able to drive home. We will have water stations throughout the entire event to keep all our guests hydrated.

Individuals found in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary measures, including but not limited to immediate removal from the event, banning from future events, and legal actions if applicable. The nature and severity of the disciplinary measures will be determined based on the specifics of the case and in accordance with legal requirements.

TICKETS & REFUNDS

I'm not able to go anymore, am I able to get a refund?

Unfortunately, all purchases are non-refundable. However, if you’d like to transfer your ticket to another ticketholder please email tickets@pocfoodandwine.com

HOw do I change the name my tickets are under?

Please email tickets@pocfoodandwine.com with the following:  

  • Event Ticket 
  • Purchaser’s Name 
  • Original Ticketholder’s Name 
  • New Ticketholder’s Name 
  • New Ticketholder’s Email.

I can't locate my QR codes

  • If you are having trouble locating your ticket please search for an email from tickets@pocfoodandwine.com with the subject line “Your tickets from POC Food & Wine Festival”.
  • Don’t forget to check your spam folder too!
  • If you are still unable to find your tickets email, tickets@pocfoodandwine.com for assistance.
