South African wine accounts for less than 1% of all US imports today.
Culture Wine Co. was founded to share the exciting changes taking place in the South African wine industry- largely spearheaded by a young generation of winemakers focused on clean natural wines as well as organic, biodynamic, and regenerative farming methods. They are producing vibrant, energetic Pinotage; a welcome change from the bombastic, high alcohol styles of the past. They’re crafting single-varietal wines from lesser known grapes like Fernao Pires, Colombar, and Palomino; which would have traditionally been lost in bulk co-op blends.
Mad Marvlus is a 100% Black-Owned and Black Woman produced natural wine and cider brand located in Sonoma, California focused on producing high-quality, personality-driven beverages with low-alcohol to no-alcohol, pancultural ancestral practices, organic and regeneratively-farmed fruit that’s climate-friendly and underrepresented (i.e. hybrid grapes, rare vinifera) only with wellness in mind. We also produce co-ferments (ie. apple-grape wine, quince and apple ciders) infused with adaptogen-rich botanicals like chamomile, jasmine, and hibiscus. Mad Marvlus is a love letter to our Black and Brown ancestors and hidden figures in American wine and cider cultivation.
